TES – Resources and Information about Spelling and Grammar Tests

IT’s ALL GREEK TO ME! Very simple idea… but the simplest are the best. The problem with ALN Support is that we remove students from their classes… work with them… and then send them back to class… and we then expect a transference of skills to happen by osmosis… So… I have now started using this portable displays. We can make them in our withdrawal classes… and then they can be put on display in the students main class.

This approach, also allows you to keep the board for future lessons… getting them out like picture in an art gallery.

SPELLING LEADERS -Been there; seen that; got the T-Shirt…My Year 5 ALN Spelling Support Group have now progressed to become Spelling Leaders for students in Year 3. These students successfully learnt their Medium Frequency words list and were desperate to change group. Fundamentally, they no longer wanted to be sat on the table where the children need support and always come last in tests.

So I decided to make them teachers… Spelling Leaders. Now these children are teaching others they are really thinking about the best ways to learn… because they are having to teach.

The T-Shirt… may seem a nonsense… but it will have a powerful affect on the self image and self confidence.
